DSC COMPATIBLE
Usually adopted for use in powerful HDBaseT Extenders such as WyreStorm’s EX-100-H2-PRO, the VESA approved Display Stream Compression technology is now being used in native HDMI connections for the first time. The aim is to send super-high bandwidth content at a lower transmission data-rate using this mathematically lossless compression algorithm; the WyreStorm FRL HAOC cables are compatible with this technology and will safely pass the signal from source to display.
HDMI 2.1 SUPPORT, NOW
Adopting a powerful 48Gbps 4-core transmission system, the passive optical transmission within these FRL cables is compatible with new content exceeding the current HDMI 2.0 standard. With each core rated at 12Gbps, the combined bandwidth means that the CAB-HAOC-FRL will support future content up to 48Gbps, equating to 8K/60 4:4:4 using peer-to-peer DSC.
PASSIVE HDMI COMMUNICATION
It’s not all about raw bandwidth and transmission power, HDMI technology works by sending huge amounts of invisible “metadata” in both directions and it’s this information that makes or breaks a viewing experience. WyreStorm Active Optical Cables have been verified to not only ensure that the A/V signal gets to its destination but also the invisible metadata too. eARC, CEC, ALLM, and VRR are all supported by WyreStorm HAOC-FRL cables.
GLOBAL HDR STANDARD SUPPORT
The emergence of HDR has inevitably meant there are several methods of displaying deeper color palettes. Open standards such as HDR-10 & HLG and licensed versions like Dolby Vision & SL-HDR1 are all currently competing formats that all vary in their method of effectively achieving the same end result. WyreStorm HAOC’s, being a transparent transmission medium, support all known HDR standards and send them uncompressed.
